Leidos currently has an opening for a Security Specialist to work in our sunny San Diego, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping Leidos make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient through information technology, engineering, and science. In this mission, you will serve as the Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist. This position will be required to interface with all levels of department, division and government management, personnel and maintain the skills to cultivate relationships for optimal contract security performance. You will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to, providing support for the security awareness and education programs, indoctrinations, debriefs, refresher training for cleared personnel regarding obligations to protect classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI), operations security (OPSEC), physical security, foreign travel briefs/debriefs, and security in/out-processing.
Primary Responsibilities
•Assist new hires with clearance processing, conduct security briefings, and maintain local security personnel records.
•Participate in periodic self-inspections as required by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
•Conduct indoctrination, periodic, refresher security education and training.
•Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the FSO and/or AFSO, as well as, coordinate efforts across other Leidos departments in support.
•Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate.
•Work as a team player, demonstrate flexibility, and excellent organizational skills.
Basic Qualifications
•High School with 3-5 years of professional experience.
•Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
•Ability to work well under pressure, possess good problem-solving skills, and able to enforce policies in a professional and personable manner.
•Strong administration skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
•Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, and organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
•Excellent customer service skills and strong professional demeanor and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently, juggle competing workloads and demands, and adapt to changing priorities with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment.
•Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
•Knowledgeable of the requirements and implementation of the NISPOM.
•Familiarity with security applications (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, DIAS).
•Experience in processing SF-312, Security Investigations and Periodic Reinvestigations.
•In-Process or completion of the CDSE FSO Curriculum.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,700.00 - $78,000.00 - $105,300.00Covid Guidance
