The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Software Tester at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.
The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.
The Software Tester will support the AFNCR IT Services Program's Systems Administration and Engineering (SAE) team to include the reporting and automation of service level agreement metrics, program requirements reporting, data mining, and correlation. Test various SW applications while simultaneously working with government and customer personnel during the entirety of the software process.
- Manage software evaluation projects, testing software and making automated installation packages using Windows Batch files and PowerShell.
- Coordinate with government customers on project schedules and learning about how software relates to their mission.
- Monitor software evaluation projects through Remedy and make weekly updates.
- Work with Information Assurance team and Information System Security Manager on creating vulnerability mitigation solutions for software to complete security impact assessment. Vulnerability mitigation may require making PowerShell scripts, online research, or communication with vendor.
- Delivers presentations on the US Air Force's software for final approval.
- Coordinate with Change Governance Board Administrators to ensure all required artifacts are submitted before presentation.
- Update approved software in Comm411 catalog.
- Write Technical Installation Plans for software which serves as installation instructions for the US Air Force, ensure clarity for Desktop Support technicians in installing the packages.
- Respond to customer inquiries about software, regarding updates and whether it has higher approval like a certification memo before determining whether software evaluation tickets should be made.
Currently possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Security+ certification (or equivalent)
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience. Additional years of related experience, training and/or certifications accepted in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range:Pay Range $52,650.00 - $81,000.00 - $109,350.00
