This is a fully remote, telework position from anywhere in the US.

Leidos is seeking a customer experience-focused Web Developer Lead to supervise a team of professional developers designing and building government websites and other web-based technical solutions. As the Team Lead, you will support a cross-functional team—providing technical direction, hands-on design and development, and other support services to deliver compelling user experiences leveraging the Drupal CMS platform and open-source frameworks such as Angular. Our ideal candidate is mission focused, a strong communicator, a positive and proactive servant leader, and applies critical thinking to drive innovations and solve project-related issues.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development team to build fully functional and best-in-class websites and applications based on requirements, design specifications, and usability expectations.

  • Serve as a motivating supervisor valuing agile collaboration, listening, attention to detail, ownership, accountability, and risk management.

  • Support project management activities including monitoring schedule, budget, and personnel to meet project and company-specific performance expectations.

  • Set and enforce coding standards and help drive strategy and the technical direction of the project in close collaboration with other project leadership.

  • Support the gathering of business requirements; design, develop, and deploy technical solutions.

  • Evaluate designs, wireframes and other design assets during the design and user experience phase for potential development issues; flag data model and/or feasibility challenges as needed.

  • Perform site-building activities, including creating and modifying views, contexts, and blocks to match functionality specified in wireframes and designs; Design, code and modify websites, landing pages, and other digital assets from layout to function.

  • Support the development and implementation of custom modules in Drupal and perform code reviews.

  • Ensure site appearance by developing and enforcing branding, content, and display standards.

  • Support required maintenance of sites and applications, fixing broken links, errors, debugging code, editing content, and redesigning web pages.

  • Evaluate site performance to identify areas or improvement and recommend innovations.

  • Support ongoing search and content optimization strategy, evaluation, analysis, and present formal recommendations for site enhancements.

  • Ensure site accessibility and compliance with Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

  • Ensure security and performance reviews of sites prior to deployment.

  • Support the integration of Drupal with other systems.

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • 8 years or more of experience building scalable websites and web-enabled solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

  • Experience as a technical lead or architect delivering web-based solutions and ideally supporting teams leveraging the Drupal CMS platform.

  • Experience working on agile projects with quick sprint release cycles using JIRA or other similar tools; serve as a champion of lean agile methodologies.

  • Strong Drupal technical skills supporting Front-end and DevOps.

  • Knowledge of taxonomy and semantic search integration; knowledge of Apache Solr is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent understanding of HTML/HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Bootstrap, JQuery, and Angular or ReactJS Frameworks.

  • Experience with UI design and APIs on top of application databases.

  • Self-motivator with ability to balance multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of search analytics, optimization, and tuning best practices.

  • Fluent in user centered design best practices.

  • Knowledge of Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and U.S. Web Design System.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline using AWS services and configuration management

  • The ability to successfully obtain a government-issued Public Trust clearance.

Not required, but additional education, certifications, and/or experience will be considered a plus:

  • Scaled Agile (SAFe).

  • Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
