More About the Role:
The Peripheral Equipment Operator operates peripheral equipment that directly supports digital computer operations. Such equipment is uniquely and specifically designed for computer applications, but need not be physically or electronically connected to a computer. Printers, plotters, tape readers, tape units or drives, disk units or drives, and data display units are examples of such equipment.
What You'll Get to Do:
-Loads printers and plotters with correct paper; adjusting controls for forms, thickness, tension, printing density, and location; and unloading hard copy.
-Labels tape reels, or disks. Checks labels and mounting and dismounting designated tape reels or disks on specified units or drives; Sets controls which regulate operation of the equipment.
-Observes panel lights for warnings and error indications and taking appropriate action; Examines tapes, cards, or other material for creases, tears or other defects that could cause processing problems.
-Excludes workers who monitor and operate a control console or a remote terminal, or whose duties are limited to operating decollators, busters, separators, or similar equipment.
-The employee will work with the Field Support Teams at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH or NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
-The entry level computer support technician role will primarily support with the preparation and delivery of computer hardware to end users.
-Physically unpacking new equipment hardware, tracking the hardware in the asset database, work with the fulfillment team to ensure the device is ready for customer use and physically deliver the device to the end user.
-Work with the logistics team to support computing device moves throughout the Center.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-High school diploma.
-Experience providing IT support in a large organization.
-Service Now experience.
Pay Range:
Pay Range - -The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
