Job Description:
The NPI Network Specialist/ Engineer has the expectations to introduce and develope new network products into the field, standardize the installation, power up, testing and pre-qualification documents and check lists. The engineer would also develop the install teams to understand the product and develop effective installation processes to streamline installs, relocations and removals of the product. The engineer would also start the trouble shooting process to hand over to tech support for further development.
Investigate systemic issues on a higher scale by identifying install or maintenance problems requiring new versions for products and devise a roll out plan as required.
Trouble shoot and identify installation issues with existing products
Develop trouble shooting flow documents for future support of the product
System enhancement support for service support and future installations
Perform installation audits
Assist in field installation plan and associated pre acceptance testing
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Develop / Support Network Deployment for network rollout (new and existing)
Support training on hardware and software requirements and processes
Support Engineering and Deployment project deliverables
Utilize Frame maker software for document creation
Utilize Microsoft Visio to create / update network / project drawings.
Understands government and TSA project requirements
Submit required documentation upon completion of project
Coordinate with project Stakeholders, vendors and customers
Schedule project resources
Ensure project financial expectations / requirements are met
Other duties as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience directly involved in network design, management, and installation for security related equipment. Previous new product implementation experience critical to this role. Technical support as a previous role also a key experience for the candidate to possess.
Knowledge/Skills: Individuals shall possess excellent communications skills and have a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork. Must be responsive to all customer issues at all times. Must be willing & able to travel at short notice.
Supervises: Provides guidance to Field and Install teams
Background: Must be able to pass an in depth background check (TSA eQIP).
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multi task several projects at once.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual
Possess excellent telephone skills
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs.
Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around dangerous industrial equipment.
Must be willing to work emergency support as needed and perform on-call responsibilities per specified schedule or as otherwise prescribed by Service Director.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is typically considered to be off-site, wherever the customer of concern is located. Service will typically be rendered at airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships or other locations as required. Typical travel requirement is up to 50% to support engineering design, installation activities, and customer support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent YoE.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $90,350.00 - $139,000.00 - $187,650.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
