The Leidos Corporate Controller’s office has an opening for a Consolidations Senior Accountant. The Consolidations team plays a critical role in Leidos’ monthly close process and the timely and accurate preparation and filing of Leidos’ quarterly and annual SEC filings. This position is responsible for the consolidation accounting and internal reporting of the Company’s consolidated entities and will interact extensively with various teams throughout the Company on numerous matters around accounting processes, reporting and systems. This lead senior position is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Consolidation Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly consolidation processes within Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) in a timely manner and with high precision and accuracy
- Prepare all elimination and consolidation journal entries for monthly close processes in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Coordinate the enterprise-wide balance sheet fluctuation analysis and deep dive reviews with operational accounting and offline subsidiary contributors and follow through action items
- Support the internal and external audit and quarterly review process by resolving questions and providing requested schedules in a timely manner
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation for all tasks; recommend and implement process improvements, as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts while maintaining a high level of precision and accuracy
- Participate in the financial integration of newly acquired business onto Costpoint
- Support the implementation of the new cloud-based consolidation tool, including data validation, parallel closes and assistance with adding several enhancements
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
- Support ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and any other special projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and minimum of 4 years of overall accounting experience
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations and their application to the preparation of financial statements
- A self-starter with ability to drive progress while ensuring deadlines are met
- Exhibit sound attention to detail and strong analytic abilities necessary
- Highly developed Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, modeling etc.) and ability to learn new software rapidly
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule with varied hours during the close cycle, sometimes outside of normal business hours
- Ability to coordinate between corporate offices and various departments
- Possess effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Work effectively both independently and whilst collaborating in a team environment.
- Utilize the Company’s accounting policies and memos to understand the accounting treatment for items related to your responsibilities
- Ensure team objectives and workload priorities are followed and achieved providing feedback as necessary
- Discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Government contracting experience
- Accounting systems experience including Deltek Costpoint, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle HFM and Oracle Financial Consolidation, and Close cloud tool
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
- Public accounting experience, MBA and/or CPA certification a plus
Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
