Leidos is seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist who is responsible for developing and implementing personnel security training, and audit report quality reviews for a centralized personnel security service organization.

Primary Responsibilities
This position supports the Security Service Center (SSC), Facility Security Officers, and other field security teams through processing classified visit request, averaging over 900 per month, and Defense Information Security System (DISS) notifications that may exceed a thousand per month. Assist the DOD Team with processing of collateral and SCI cross-over actions as necessary, responding to spikes in processing.  The selected candidate will;
•Manage a small team of two individual contributors in performance of team functions, time card management, performance reviews and appraisals, and counseling.
•Train/oversee team members on SSC team processes, including systems, databases, standard operating procedures, and standard clearance processes.
•Develop training aides, handouts, and desktop references.
•Process all classified visit requests on behalf of the SSC.
•Process all DISS notifications. Insure FSOs and employees are expeditiously notified of changes in clearance eligibilities, and respond expeditiously to Supplemental Information Requests from the government.
•Perform regular reviews of Security Information Management System (SIMS) documentation to reduce team error rates.  Work directly with team member to correction errors.

Basic Qualifications

•In depth knowledge and proficiency with the Defense Information Security System (DISS)
•Thorough understanding of Department of Defense security clearance eligibility and adjudication standards.
•Demonstrated ability to process security clearance actions in DISS to include creating new records, updating records with Leidos Security Management Office information, adding accesses, processing visit requests, and processing notifications and tasks in DISS.
•Assist with maintaining standard operating procedures by conducting regular reviews and recommending updates.
•Fully understands DOD personnel security standards, and practices.
•Bachelor’s Degree and 4-8 years security administrative, or management experience.  Relevant experience may replace a degree.

Preferred Qualifications
•5 years personnel security administrative, or management experience. 
•Self-starter with the ability to work independently, while at the same time being a solid group contributor with strong leadership skills.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $89,000.00 - $120,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Covid Guidance
