Job Description:

Support training and exercise delivery at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), providing support to the overall logistic equipment readiness processes; anticipating mission needs and operational requirements and offering alternatives and advice; and evaluating, redesigning, and implementing logistics readiness processes for training and exercise support. A key technical subject matter expert that ensures high equipment availability rates. Use preventive maintenance process, rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and quickly restore equipment to services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determine baseline readiness for ensuring equipment is delivered on-time and according to operational demands; improves the reliability of equipment assets and increases the utilization and efficiency of assets.
  • Help prepare and organize documentation for such activities as calibrations, function tests, material certifications, inspections and, if necessary, third-party quality control and inspections.
  • The development of processes, procedures, and standards for the development of maintenance strategies, maintenance tasks, inclusive of tasks lists, maintenance plans, items, and work instructions.
  • Reviews and evaluates maintenance capabilities, investigates systemic equipment system failures, evaluates maintenance programs, reviews performance data, statistical information, makes recommendations, conducts diagnostic troubleshooting procedures, and makes preliminary checks to determine if problems are of a generally isolated nature or involve an entire suite of fielded systems.
  • Maintain fleet vehicle maintenance program to ensure fleet vehicles are maintained in good repair in a state of high readiness, operator training and protocols are updated with changes in technology, and periodic operational checks are performed
  • Perform necessary repairs to equipment and maintain status of off campus vendor repairs.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and a minimum of ten years of related experience. Previous experience in maintenance management, first responder/receivers’ equipment readiness.
  • Ability to lift, turn, and carry heavy equipment (up to 60 pounds) to support training.
  • Experience in the supervision and management of maintenance planning, execution, or performance management
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical equipment troubleshooting, overhaul and repairs
  • Perform detailed tasks under time constraints. 
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule. 
  • Ability to work with customer representatives at different organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and oral skills, to include the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Skill on how to use computers, databases, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Due to Federal Contract Regulations, U. S. citizenship is required.
  • Must have an accepted form of government-issued ID compliant with the Real ID Act
  • Must submit to and obtain final suitability by successful completion of a pre-placement screening consisting of background check, financial institutions/credit bureau check, and disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associated Degree from a technical or community college or accredited industrial maintenance program certificate with focus in the mechanical/electrical fields.
  • Ability to identify the specific resources such as personnel, test equipment, precision instruments, machinery, machine tools, facilities and publication necessary for the resolution of varies types of maintenance on equipment and operational problems, failure and malfunctions

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Covid Guidance
