Associate Project Manager / Electric Utilities – Framingham, MA
Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside project managers for various clients supported by the Leidos Power Delivery Services (PDS) division in the Northeast United States. The position will initially have limited but increasing responsibilities, such as assisting with schedules, budgets, tracking financial performance, resource loading and contract management.
The Associate Project Manager will be part of an established PDS Team that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.
The Associate Project Manager will assist in managing distribution projects in New England and New York to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Duties will include supporting the Project Manager in all aspects of projects including managing the development and process for evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design and construction, as well as for the procurement of material and support systems; and ensuring that all aspects of the projects are documented and completed in accordance with company policies and all regulations and laws.
Associate Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Projects are multi-discipline in nature, multi stakeholder involvement, and low to medium financial risk exposure profile requiring management reporting communications.
- Assist in managing traditional distribution projects in New England and New York
- Work with the Project Manager to take the necessary action to see that the projects are completed efficiently, on time and within the established budget.
- Assists the team’s development of a comprehensive project plan, schedule, communications plan and establishes the change control methodology.
- Works with the Project Manager in the development of a detailed project budget and cash flow.
- Works with the Project Manager to report weekly on the project scope, budget and schedule.
- Assists the Project Manager with execution of the project plan and project change control management process.
- Assists the Project Manager in the development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design, construction and test procurement of material and support systems.
- Assists the Project Manager with project close out in a timely manner to support corporate business goals
- Provides clear concise and comprehensive reports for management
- Travel to Framingham office is required at least a few days per week, with possibilities of more teleworking following initial training period
Associate Project Manager Qualifications:
- Requires a BA or BS degree (Engineering, Business or Finance required) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Related experience and familiarity with Project Management methodologies is highly desired
- The ability and desire to obtain a PMP Certification within three years
- Must have the capability for planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks
- Experience with MS Excel and Project
- Should be capable of tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasks
- Ability to take direction from and discuss decisions with supervisor, and to coordinate with peers on project
- Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner in briefings meetings
- Must have demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business
- Strong writing and verbal presentation skills

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
