Just announced!
Leidos was recently awarded the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program contract. It is with great humility that Leidos will assume responsibility for staffing MFLC positions west of the Mississippi River. It is an honor to provide non-medical services to active-duty service members and their families, and we are eager and excited to support such a valued customer and important mission. We have been preparing for months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We are interested in speaking with all individuals who currently serve on this program and those counselors looking to join the program.
Our team of mental healthcare professionals needs your help to ensure that our active-duty service members and their families receive the exceptional care they deserve. If you are currently serving as an MFLC and would like to learn more about opportunities to serve, please review the job opportunities below. During this transition process, Leidos and our teammates will contact qualified applicants to discuss next steps for employment. Please be aware that we are conducting a phased transition approach, so employees will be joining the team at different times throughout the transition process.
Did you know that Leidos has been in the medical and behavioral health industry for over 30 years??
Leidos is a leader in providing Human Performance and Behavioral Health support to the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Veterans Administration. We have a reputation as one of the most outstanding providers of both clinical and non-clinical professionals in support of our military and military families across the globe.
Have you considered how a defense company may provide direct support to our active duty military, veterans, and their families?
The stresses of military life are complex, requiring a wide range of problem solving skills to address areas such as: deployment; frequent relocations; isolation from extended family members; children coping with the absence of a parent; child education and spousal employment. Overall the program is designed to rapidly deploy certified and licensed adult, child, and youth counselors for short- and long-term assignments based on each military branch’s specific need.
Our staff provide Non-medical counseling (NMC) services and additional outreach services as detailed below through a single DoD maintained and operated MFLC program. The standard MFLC counseling approach is psycho-educational in nature, tailored to unique military environments, and helps participants learn to anticipate and resolve unique challenges associated with military life. These services aid in the prevention or reduction of the effects of stressors that may detract from military and family readiness.
Our clinical staff have worked along-side MFLC providers since the inception of the program in 2004. Therefore, we have solutions and creative approaches to staffing that will result in:
Greater job security with more stable assignments and follow-on opportunities for MFLC providers in rotational positions
Increasing the options for year-round employment with continuity of compensation and benefits.
Compensation packages tailored to the MFLC provider’s experience.
Augmenting the MFLC team with experienced, Master Level counselors seeking supervision toward licensure.
More robust communication between the program office and the field.
We are currently seeking professionals to join our team in support of the DoD Military Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program. The MFLC counselor is a licensed mental health professional who exercises discretion and independent judgement to provide appropriate resource information in the form of non-medical counseling, coaching, training and education to Military Service Members and their families. Non-Medical Counselor (NMC) services are intended to augment, not replace, other DoD support services/programs, or staff available for eligible participants.
MFLC opportunities exist at military installations throughout 48 states (CONUS) as well as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam, Europe and Asia (OCONUS).
